Brad Pitt's 'floating house' will work here in the Philippines

Hollywood celebrity Brad Pitt and his Make It Right (MIR) Foundation set about building environmentally-friendly and sustainable housing for affected families in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina pummeled the Southwestern coast of the United States in 2006.

Make it Right Foundation aims to build over 150 houses within 14 blocks using "green" design principles pitched by architectural firms all over the world.

This is supposed to fulfill the promise Pitt made residents in the area: that he would help them build a stronger and safer neighborhood.

Meanwhile, we can only hope that typhoon Ramil won't cause much devastation to our country unlike typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.

  3. Dear sir, haha! Thank you very much for helping me earn 3points sa contest na sinalihan ko. I was wondering, if you were a filipino or an american? Hm.

On your post, floating house? I can't even imagine myself living in a floating house. But i wanna try and perhaps to have this kind of house too. (In my dreams. Amen!)

The typhoon Ramil. I am curios why it is named Ramil? How about the letter Q? i thought typhoons were named alphabetically. Ondoy, Pepeng. QQQQQ? Ramil? Ngee.

That's all. Once again, thank you very much for helping me earn 3points!! :))

  4. dodong flores: I think that will be too expensive unless there will be mass production of the materials and prefabricated parts will be made available.

Jag: According to the news, typhoon Ramil is slowing down. Sana tuloy-tuloy na at mawala.

  11. Puwede and floating houses sa Pinas. Dapat maayos-na maayos and disposal ng waste water sa Pilipinas lalong lalo na sa mga cities na katulad ng Metro Manila. Puwedeng ipakita sa television ang ginagawa ng mga Dutch tungkol sa water management. Calling ABS-CBN, GMA, etc.

Please gawin na ang relocation ng mga squatters, planting of trees in our mountains, creating flood zones (catch basins), armoring our dams/dikes, green parks, etc.

    God bless the Philippines
